Pinarayi calls on Christian leaders

KOTTAYAM: CPI(M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan held talks with Catholicos Baselius Didymos I, head of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, at the Catholicate Aramana at Devalokam on Monday.

He was accompanied by party district secretary K.J. Thomas. Church authorities said it was a courtesy call and issues concerning the Church were discussed. Sources said the CPI(M) leader also held talks with leaders of the Catholic church. Senior functionaries of the Kerala Catholic Bishops Conference (KCBC) and the Inter-Church Council for Education were present.
