Malankara Orthodox Church to express its
?political will? |

KOTTAYAM: The Malankara
Orthodox Syrian Church will use the coming Lok Sabha election to express
its political will, church leaders said here on Saturday.
A statement, issued on behalf of priest trusty Fr.
Johns Abraham Konat, lay trusty M.G. George Muthoot and church secretary
George Joseph, said the church had always taken a stance for
strengthening democratic and secular forces, but both political
formations in the State had given scant regard to the sentiments of
church members in the selection of candidates.
Church bodies will take
appropriate decisions to express the protest and political will of the
members. The statement comes in the wake of an earlier decision of the
church to field its own candidates in the election.
